1st Annual Nickelpoint Brewing Co. Brew-in Competition

 

NOTE: This is NOT a BJCP / AHA sanctioned event.

 

Direction/Rules

  1. Teams of up to (3) people are allowed.

  2. Total number of teams allowed is limited at (10).

  3. Entry fee of $15 per team may be paid by cash or check to Nickelpoint Brewing Co prior to the Registration deadline of April 9, 2016.

  4. A registration form (click here) must be printed and submitted to the Nickelpoint Office for each team/beer entered by:

    1. Entries may be emailed in PDF format to events@nickelpointbrewing.com

    2. Entry fee of $15 per team must be paid at this time

  5. All beer brewed for this competition must be brewed on site at Nickelpoint Brewing Co. on the assigned brew day of April 16, 2016.

  6. Each team/individual must bring their own brew rig, ingredients, yeast, carboy, and any other items needed for the brew day.

  7. Only (1) brew rig is allowed per team.

  8. Beers must be brewed to the 2015 BJCP guidelines.

  9. Propane / Electric brew rigs only. You must provide your own propane.

  10. Entries must be submitted for judging by:

  11. Each team is responsible for providing (3) standard unbranded 12 oz. bottles for judging. No swing top bottles or cork and cage will be accepted. Each Entry MUST be clearly labeled provide labels or they will not be judged.

 

General Info:

  1. Nickelpoint will provide hot and cold carbon filtered water and power.

  2. Lunch will be provided by Nickelpoint.

  3. Brew day will start promptly at 9am. Please arrive and be set up and ready to start brewing promptly at 9am.

  4. Participants are welcome to bring 2 bottles of homebrew to share with the group.

  5. Beers will be judged by a panel of local brewers.

  6. Dates:

    1. Registration deadline:  April 13, 2016

    2. Brew Date: April 16, 2016

    3. Samples for judging deadline:  June 11, 2016

    4. Judging Date: June 18, 2016

    5. Results will be announced:  June 18, 2016

 

 

Prizes:

  1. 1st place: Small Batch (of winning recipe) brew day with Bruce (Head Brewer @ Nickelpoint) and special release party at Nickelpoint Taproom.

  2. 2nd place: $25 gift card to American Brew Master & $30 gift card to Nickelpoint

  3. 3rd place: $25 gift card to Atlantic Brew Supply
